It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will win the Premier League this season.
The coronavirus pandemic has seen the football season suspended with the Reds in an almost unassailable position at the top of the table – as it stands, they have a 25-point lead, which is the biggest such margin in the division’s history, and they are just six points and two wins away from being confirmed as champions.

The Premier League has reiterated its desire to end the campaign, but there may be a point where it is no longer possible to do so, which could see the season ended and the Reds given the title prematurely. Gary Neville has been talking about the possibility of that happening, and it is clear that he would relish it as it would be better than the Reds winning it on the pitch. He told Sky Sports (via The Liverpool Echo) that he will pin a little asterisk on his suit next season whilst covering the league for Sky Sports to commemorate their tainted title.

As you can imagine, this has had lots of Reds fans talking, with one Kopite labelling Neville as “jealous“. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
Who cares, it only goes to show how far they have fallen. No sportsmanship whatsoever, he is point scoring over a tragedy. Utterly cringe worthy.

He always was a self opinionated big mouth so why would he change now. His deep seated hatred of everything Lfc will always come to the surface so why does he think it would bother us.a hero in his own mind.
