Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at Ibrox club’s tweet

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have reacted angrily to a tweet from the club (via @RangersFC) featuring comments from Steven Gerrard reflecting on pre-season, although the nature of most fans’ ire is unrelated to anything that the manager said.

Instead, the fury of many supporters arose from the club posting official correspondence which did not confirm transfer activity involving Bongani Zungu, the Amiens midfielder who has recently been linked with a move to Ibrox.

According to The Scottish Sun, the ‘Gers have agreed a fee of £3.6m for the South Africa midfielder, with The Scotsman reporting that the Light Blues have been given the green light to begin discussing personal terms with the 27-year-old.

The Ibrox club have already made a few signings since the end of the 2019/20 season, bringing in Calvin Bassey, Jon McLaughlin and Leon Balogun while confirming permanent deals for previously on-loan duo Jermain Defoe and Ianis Hagi.

However, these ‘Gers fans on Twitter are growing increasingly impatient for Zungu to be added to that list, and they were not slow in making their feelings known to the club:
