Plenty of Glasgow Rangers fans have been reacting to a transfer report linking Ross McCrorie with a potential move to another Premiership outfit.
Glasgow Times reported that Hibernian are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old, who is one of Jack Ross’ leading targets at Easter Road, although they may need to settle for a loan deal if they fail to agree a permanent move for the midfielder. Chris Jack, the author of the piece, later shared a link to same via his Twitter profile @Chris_Jack89.

McCrorie broke into the Light Blues’ first team in 2017/18 under Pedro Caixinha and latterly Graeme Murty, appearing in 21 league games that season and regularly getting a starting berth. He had a further 31 appearances in all competitions in the following campaign under Steven Gerrard but spent last season on loan at Portsmouth in English League One.
Despite Gerrard reportedly being keen to keep him at Ibrox, the 22-year-old was not even selected among the nine substitutes for last weekend’s win at Aberdeen, an indication that he could struggle to get regular game-time for the ‘Gers this season.

These Ibrox supporters have mixed views on McCrorie’s potential move to Hibs – some feel that he should be given more of a chance by Gerrard while others reckon that he needs a move away, with one fan saying that previous ‘Gers bosses Caixinha and Murty “shortened his potential” during the disappointing 2017/18 campaign:
I’d be disappointed with that. He’s exactly what we missed in midfield 2nd half of last season, someone with a bit of dig that can actually tackle

Disappointing. Some say he’s not good enough for Rangers, but I don’t recall him putting a foot wrong. Plus, I remember the gaffer saying that Ross would be the future captain of Rangers and Scotland. There’ve been plenty of games where we could’ve used his steel in the last year

Would rather he stayed. Decent squad player and helps with the homegrown player quota in Europe. https://t.co/58yVXDhsV2

Jury’s out. A victim of his own flexibility. Not clear what his best position is. RB in my opinion.

Not good enough umfortunately, I feel murty and pedro shortened his potential playing under them

Not really surprised at this. I don’t think him or Docherty have a future at Ibrox

Good move for him. Not good enough for Rangers unfortunately
