Glasgow Rangers announced on Tuesday that they have teamed up with Tomket Tires, news which elicited plenty of drole, sarcastic replies from some of their fans on social media.
The ‘Gers confirmed on their official website that the tyre manufacturer will be their ‘official sleeve partner’ for the next two seasons, with their logo featuring on the right sleeve of the Ibrox club’s kits. The news was also shared on the Light Blues’ official Twitter channel @RangersFC.

It is the second corporate partnership announced in as many days, following Monday’s news that Seko Logistics will feature their branding on the upper back of the Light Blues’ kits this season. Tomket Tires’ sleeve sponsorship brings to four the number of brands who will feature on ‘Gers kits in 2020/21, along with Seko Logistics, main shirt sponsor 32Red and lower back sponsor The Energy Check.

The announcement didn’t bring the type of responses for which the club may have hoped, with many ‘Gers fans taking to Twitter to deliver a series of stinging replies over the news:
