Another summer, another David de Gea to Real Madrid saga… well, that’s what Transfer Tavern punters are predicting given recent reports surrounding the goalkeeper’s future at Manchester United.
Indeed, the Daily Star claim sources have told them that it’s “difficult not to be interested” in the La Liga giants from the player’s point of view, the Manchester Evening News are suggesting that the stopper himself is annoyed with Jose Mourinho’s comments that he was “sleeping” when he made a mistake vs. West Brom and the Independent have even gone as far as to say that the club might accept a swap offer from Los Blancos involving Toni Kroos.
It’s all pointing towards another episode like the one in the summer of 2015 when De Gea’s much talked about transfer to Real fell through at the last minute, only this time it’s hard to see it all ending with the player still at Old Trafford.
Although last time all Man United fans were begging him to stay, it seems that the tide has shifted somewhat, with quite a few on Twitter frustrated to the point that they would not mind seeing the back of the 26-year-old…

Wouldn’t be surprised if De Gea left much like Ronaldo did. I’d expect he’d cost £50-60 million and I’d go for Butland to replace him.
