‘Get him, ‘Please’ – Man City fans on Twitter react to botched transfer move

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been to a story from Tuttosport that claims the club have had a 50 million euro bid for Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic turned down. The club has been linked with Jorginho very heavily over the last few months and to see that Pep Guardiola has made a bid for a midfielder of similar style to the Napoli man has come as a surprise.

Pep Guardiola’s side cantered to the Premier League title last season, scoring the most goals, registering the most points, winning the most consecutive matches and winning by the biggest margin in English top-flight history. The scary thing now though, is that the Spanish manager is refusing to let up this summer. After smashing almost every record possible, Guardiola isn’t sitting back to enjoy his achievements, he’s looking at topping them again.

Manchester City have been looking at bringing in another winger to ease the pressure on Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane, however, the main position they’ve been looking for is a capable central midfielder to ease the tension on Fernandinho, who at the age of 33, hasn’t got long left at the top of his game. The thinking behind Jorginho and/or Pjanic is to continue learning the trade from Fernandinho and to be the man who can sit in front of the City back four for seasons to come.
