It has been a very long few days for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern. The Blues have been very quiet on the transfer front over the last few weeks, leaving our resident Blues – and Antonio Conte – at a loss for words.
It has been clear all season that Chelsea are lacking both quality and depth, particularly in the attack, and so the lack of movement in that regard has been a real worry.
Fortunately, though, things appear to be on the up for Chelsea. Indeed, it seems as though a major signing is on the way.
A move for the Frenchman makes a lot of sense. He hasn’t been a regular for Arsenal this season, and that situation is likely to worsen following the impending arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Chelsea, meanwhile, are lacking a genuine target-man as well as depth beyond Alvaro Morata – and Giroud ticks both of these boxes.
