The Sky Blues are in the Transfer Tavern today and like a kid in a sweet shop, they want as many signings as humanly possible.
No offence to any Brighton fans out there, but Manchester City could have been drawn a much tougher opening day fixture.
Pep Guardiola’s men kick off their Premier League campaign at the Amex against Chris Hughton’s Premier League new boys and will be expecting to pick up three points.
Having already had a very busy and expensive transfer window, The Sky Blues still have a few more players on their shortlist that they will be hoping to bring in before the start of the new campaign.
There is no real need for any new signings, looking at City’s side they have a team more than capable enough of winning the Premier League, but a few more couldn’t hurt.
With that being said, here are two players who City should confirm the signing of before their opening game against Brighton.
Inigo Martinez

Realistically speaking, City need a new centre-back.
John Stones still isn’t quite ready, Vincent Kompany’s injury problems are too constant and Nicolas Otamendi is far too inconsistent.
Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez has been linked with a move to Manchester and he could be exactly what they’re missing at the back.
He is composed, strong, good in the air and enjoys playing the ball out of defence. Everything that Pep will be looking for.
Alexis Sanchez

It is hard to see where Alexis Sanchez would fit into City’s front line of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus but, if you sign a player of Sanchez’s quality then you will find a way.
It is looking ever more likely that the Chilean will be leaving Arsenal this summer after he consistently refuses to sign a new deal with the Gunners.
His preferred destination seems to be Man City so if Pep can get this deal all wrapped up before the start of the new season, then his attacking strength could be one of the best in the world.
