The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty pleased with their club’s start in this season’s Premier League.

New signing, Wayne Rooney has hit the ground running in his dream return to the club by scoring the only goals against Stoke City and Manchester City in his first two outings for the club.

Alongside Rooney, a statement has been made by the club in the form of more major summer transfer activity with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez all coming through the gates at Goodison Park

However, our landlord doesn’t believe that this should mean that the Toffees don’t need to utalise their squad and there are some members in the Everton squad that he believes should be given a chance in the next few weeks.

This has sparked up a discussion in the Tavern which has been geared towards which players should be given a chance over the next few games.

Our landlord has listened in on the discussion and he has a shortlist of the two players who the Toffee fans really want to see given a chance in the first team.

Ademola Lookman

The youngster is a real prospect and the Toffees in the Tavern are interested to see what he has to offer to their club this season.

Our landlord agrees that Lookman is a real prospect but he should not be allowed to rot on the sidelines at Goodison Park and instead be allowed to follow the suit of players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Mason Holgate in establishing himself in the first team.

Muhammed Besic

Primarily used in the cause of seeing out games, our landlord feels Besic would have much to offer should he start in the Toffees’ first team.

The Bosnian has missed a lot of football through injury and as he is chomping at the bit to make up for lost time, it is obvious that Everton will be a player will to give 100% for the cause should Ronald Koeman give him a chance.
