‘Gives me those Dybala vibes’ - Man City fans on Twitter adore latest sensation

The Manchester City supporters in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed by their sides first defeat of the season last night, but they retain plenty of optimism ahead of the Manchester derby this weekend.

Pep Guardiola decided to field a second-string side for City’s visit to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine last night, and his decision resulted in the club’s first defeat since April. City had little to play for on the night as they had already qualified for the knockout stages as winners of Group F – a factor which undoubtedly sapped some intensity out of their performance.

Despite the 2-1 defeat, it was a landmark night for City’s youth team, as City’s academy products Phil Foden and Tosin Adarabioyo started the game in Ukraine.

Foden was included in City’s first-team starting line-up for the first time in his Manchester City career at just 17 years of age, whilst Adarabioyo made his second Champions League start in City blue.

Both of the aforementioned players looked assured throughout proceedings, and it is fair to say that future looks bright for the club on the evidence of their performances.

However, it was the cameo performance of another of City’s academy products, namely Brahim Diaz that really captured the imagination of the onlooking City supporters.

Diaz was a constant menace to Shakhtar’s backline with his direct dribbling and quick feet after entering the fray as a substitute in the 62nd minute and his eye-catching performance was a big post-match talking point on Twitter.
