As per Algerian sources (via The Scottish Sun), Haris Belkebla has received interest from Celtic as well as Glasgow Rangers, which could change Stade Brest’s minds following Gregory Lorenzi’s comments.
The Gers are already said to have made an approach for the 26-year-old, but sporting director Lorenzi said on Monday following the French side’s return to training that they are not open to selling the Algeria international.

However, sources from the player’s homeland say that Celtic have also made an enquiry, which could lead Brest to reconsider their previous stance.
This is no doubt a blow to the Gers’ chances of signing Belkebla, even if they wouldn’t want to admit it. After all, the Bhoys have now won the last nine Scottish Premiership titles in a row – although the previous one was claimed in controversial circumstances following the premature end to the season – and no other club north of the border has won a major trophy since 2016.

Belkebla is a player who has experience in one of Europe’s top five leagues and, although he was disgraced after being sent home from the African Cup of Nations last year after exposing his backside online, he could well prove to be a bargain if he could be signed for a fee anywhere close to his £1.08m Transfermarkt value.
The Gers are set to enter a make-or-break campaign as they look to end their nine-year trophy drought. Beating their fiercest rivals to players like Belkebla would be a sign that they are ready to challenge once again at the very top.
