Glasgow Rangers: Gers receive blow and boost in race for Haris Belkebla

As per Le10 Sport, Lens have made the first move for Glasgow Rangers target Haris Belkebla.

The Gers are said to be interested in the Algeria international, but it appears that Stade Brest are determined to keep him at the club next season.

Lens have made an approach for the player and, even though he would like to make the move to the fellow French club, Brest have turned down the offer.

This is both good and bad news for the Gers. Obviously, on the positive side, a rejected bid means that both Lens and the Ibrox outfit remain on the same level in terms of negotiations, and if the 54-time Scottish champions get themselves into gear, they can still make a concrete move for the midfielder.

However, the fact that he wants a move to Lens could go against them. The Sang et Or were promoted to Ligue 1 last season after finishing runners-up in the second tier and, although the Gers may be a prestigious side across Europe, the Scottish Premiership cannot really rival the French top flight.

As such, Belkebla may need some convincing from Ross Wilson if he were to make a move north of the border.
