Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at governing body’s latest move

Glasgow Rangers have had their fair share of run-ins with the SPFL in the past few months.

The Gers, of course, recently accused the governing body of corruption over their handling of the resolution proposal, and also demanded an independent investigation into the authority after providing a 200-page dossier that they believed proved wrongdoing. In the end, only 12 other sides in Scotland’s top four divisions believed that there was any reason for a probe, but the Gers’ point was already made.

They are unlikely to be too happy with the latest move from the SPFL, either. It has emerged that they have sent a letter to all clubs across the country asking for “emergency powers” for next season in relation to all pandemic-related issues, such as the start of the next campaign. That would mean that, on these matters, clubs would have no say, and the SPFL would be in full control.

This has attracted the attention of the Gers supporters, and it is fair to say they are livid. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
