As per Het Laatste Nieuws, Genk are on the verge of completing a move for Glasgow Rangers target Niklas Dorsch.
The Gers had previously been linked with a move for the former Bayern Munich midfielder, who joined Heidenheim on a free transfer last summer.

Now, though, it appears that he is close to moving to Belgium, with Genk set to pay €3.5m (£3.1m) for his services.
Dorsch recently suffered heartbreak with Heidenheim in the 2.Bundesliga. The second tier side were within touching distance of securing a place in next term’s Bundesliga, but they were unfortunately beaten on away goals by Werder Bremen, meaning they will remain below the top flight for at the very least one more season.

After finishing third, it is no surprise to see bigger sides look at a player like the 22-year-old, who played 32 times last term in the league, scoring once and providing five assists. The Gers do have prestige, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that the Scottish Premiership lacks the attraction of other leagues, even Belgium.
As such, it looks as though the Gers will miss out on Dorsch’s signature – they will now need to go back to the drawing board.
