Glasgow Rangers: Fans urge Morelos to stay at Ibrox

Glasgow Rangers kicked off their Europa League campaign in dominating fashion as they brushed aside Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar in the second qualifying round of the competition.

Despite playing away from home and on a plastic pitch, the Gers were far too good for their opponents, winning 5-0 thanks to goals from James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Jermain Defoe and a brace from Alfredo Morelos, and they will now face Willem II in the next round of the competition.

£13.5m-valued Morelos – as per Transfermarkt – has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in recent months, with him said to have agreed personal terms with Lille, but he was in fine form in this clash. His two goals mean he has scored 20 times in European competition for the Ibrox outfit – that puts him second on the all-time Gers list.
