Whilst none of Glasgow Rangers’ three representatives in the Scotland squad played against the Czech Republic on Monday, they will likely have been disappointed with the way game turned out.
The Tartan Army’s match against the Locomotive had been rocked in the build-up by the news that two Czech players had contracted Covid-19 – the match was first reported as cancelled, but UEFA made it clear that it had to be played, which meant that a whole new squad had to be selected.

As such, Scotland will have been hoping to have had an easy night, but that was far from the case. In the end, they laboured to a 2-1 victory, and even that came after the Czechs had opened the scoring.

After the match, Steve Clarke attempted to make some excuses for his side, explaining that the Czech side were clearly going to give it their all, and that a win is still a win, but the Gers supporters didn’t seem to agree. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Aye cause no other team tries to win. Pathetic https://t.co/H47IPdsiGq

The jakey not picking his most creative players didn’t help, he’s a joke and so are @ScottishFA

Scottish players used to go out to play the game of their lives every time they were selected. Nowadays, they’d be dropped if they didn’t play not to lose. Managers stifling every drop of creativity.

A 31 year old winning his first cap ? Joke of a performance and selection tactics yet again. Seriously losing faith in Clarke in his ability to carry us forward ! On evidence might beat Israel but not beating that Norwegian side ! Sort it out or leave Mr Grumpy
