Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is eager to sign a new midfielder, but time is ticking as the transfer deadline approaches.

The Gers have been linked to the likes of Bongani Zungu, Daniel Johnson and Mohamed Besic throughout the window, but as of yet, he is yet to bring any of them to Ibrox. That, it seems, has led to the 54-time Scottish champions looking elsewhere for another player.
Now, it is being reported that they are interested in Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna. Alan Nixon has reported that the Gers even made a loan offer for the 23-year-old, but that was rejected by the Terriers. Bacuna scored six goals and provided five assists last term, and it seems the Gers supporters would be absolutely delighted to take him north of the border.

I think there will be many names linked to Rangers today as we look at contingencies if our top picks, such as Zungu, don’t happen. I’ve never heard of Bacuna but judging on his YouTube compilation, which we all know can’t be trusted, he does appear to be a Gerrard type player.
