Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at Ryan Kent news

Glasgow Rangers kicked off their Veolia Trophy campaign against Lyon on Thursday night.

This is a pre-season tournament in France, in which Celtic and Nice are also competing. The Gers, though, faced Les Gones, and put in an impressive display. They won 2-0, with Ianis Hagi scoring the second strike after an own goal, and even former Lyon man Anthony Reveillere admitted that the Gers had controlled the game.

However, it wasn’t all rosy for the Gers – Ryan Kent was sent off in the first half for raising his hand to the face of an opponent. Not only did it put the Ibrox outfit under pressure in the match itself, but it could have an effect on the start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership campaign – it is being reported that he could be banned for the first two games of the season.

This has attracted the attention of the Gers supporters, and it is fair to say they are livid. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
