According to Le10 Sport, Marseille have held talks with Glasgow Rangers in regards to loaning Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos has been continually linked with a move to Lille, with Les Dogues even having made a bid of £16m for the striker.

Now, it appears their Ligue 1 rivals are also interested in Morelos – shockingly, though, the UEFA Champions League club only want him on loan. Unsurprisingly, the Ibrox outfit do not want to let the 24-year-old leave on a temporary basis.

Kudos to L’OM for trying – if you don’t ask, you don’t get – but they can’t have believed they would have any chance of taking Morelos for the short-term only, surely? There is no doubt that the Colombia international could be on the move this summer – he has reportedly agreed personal terms with Lille and has spoken about moving to a more prestigious league – but there is no way the Gers would let their star asset leave without receiving a substantial transfer fee.

Currently valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the Gers are reportedly looking for £20m for his signature – if Marseille really want him, they will have to look at getting close to that sum.
