As per Football Insider, Marseille are the latest club to be preparing a bid for Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer, with him even said to have agreed personal terms with Marseille’s Ligue 1 rivals Lille.

Now, though, the side from the south of France are preparing a big money bid for the 24-year-old. They had previously been linked with a £16m move.

The speculation surrounding Morelos’ future refuses to go away – it is surely only a matter of time before he does make the move away from Ibrox. Following the signings of Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten, Steven Gerrard does at least seem prepared for the outcome of losing his star forward.
In terms of whether Les Phoceens would be a good destination for £13.5m-valued Morelos – as per Transfermarkt – it is clear they need a striker. Dimitri Payet was the club’s top goalscorer in all competitions last term with 12 goals, with Dario Benedetto being the top scoring forward on just 11 strikes – no other player managed to hit double figures.

After 79 goals in 142 matches for the Gers, and 29 last term alone, he would likely bring goals to the club. Added to that it would also give him the opportunity of playing Champions League football after a second place finish in Ligue 1 secured Marseille a seat at Europe’s top table.
It remains to be seen whether the French outfit make a bid to Ross Wilson’s liking.
