Glasgow Rangers continued their pre-season preparations with a well-deserved Veolia Trophy win.
The Gers played Lyon and Nice in France as they warm-up for their first match of the next campaign, which will be against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. They first managed to beat Les Gones 2-0, before they then defeated their fellow Ligue 1 rivals by the same scoreline, meaning they lifted the cup.

Of course, in the long-run, this does not mean much at all – even Steven Gerrard admitted that this was more about fitness than about winning any silverware. However, former SPFL chief Roger Mitchell clearly believes that the Gers are delighted to win it.
On Twitter, an account shared a video of Gers supporters going wild, and insinuated that was the fans celebrating this win. Mitchell clearly believed it was the case, and criticised the support for being so happy with the victory – even though it was pretty obvious this was an old video as the likes of Lee Wallace can be seen.

As you can imagine, this attracted the attention of the Gers fans, and they took to the social media platform to share their thoughts – one fan even called it “disturbing”. You can see some of the best comments below.
Oooops 😂😂😂😂😂 maybe he will do an interview of SPLTV…..no? Always thought that was a good idea. Between this clown and Neil Doncaster….no wonder we have been a laughing stock as a League for years! https://t.co/5kMaBuq09m

It’s truly disturbing that this imbecile ran our top league at one point. It does explain a few things I suppose. https://t.co/FFt4nuyijs

Yes it is true @RPMComo is actually that much of an idiot that he believed this tweet. Just remember this complete Muppet was in charge of Scottish football and set it back years with his TV deal ideas. https://t.co/jq21q2VoNY

I see you gave this “Daily Record Sport” account as much forensic examination as you did all those years ago to that Sky deal
