Glasgow Rangers: Ryan Kent furious at claims he wants to leave Ibrox

According to The Scottish Sun, Ryan Kent is “furious” at suggestions he is desperate to leave Glasgow Rangers for Leeds, and he has told Steven Gerrard he wants to stay at Ibrox.

The Gers have already rejected a bid of £10m for their star winger, and there have been reports that the newly-promoted Premier League side will return with an offer of £14m.

90min.com said he was eager to leave the Gers, but this appears to not be the case, with Kent telling his current boss that he has no plans to depart.

Kent’s stance will no doubt be music to Gerrard’s ears. The 23-year-old has already played a big role in the Gers promising early season form as they sit top of the Scottish Premiership table – he has scored three goals in the first five games of the campaign.

If a player is set on moving on, it can be very hard to keep him even if you want to, so this will make Gerrard’s and Ross Wilson’s jobs an awful lot easier as they look to resist the temptation to sell. As the Gers look to win a first piece of major silverware since 2011 this term, the last thing they need is any distractions.
