Glasgow Rangers: Fans angry with Nicola Sturgeon’s comments over potential Premiership pause

Glasgow Rangers have had a strong start to the new Premiership season.

The ‘Gers have won their first two matches, prevailing against Aberdeen and St. Mirren by scorelines of 1-0 and 3-0 respectively, and Steven Gerrard’s side now sit second in the table behind Hibernian on goal difference. The Ibrox outfit have even managed to open up a two-point lead over Glasgow rivals Celtic.

However, even though the campaign has only just started, it could already be in jeopardy. Several Aberdeen players, as well as Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli, have breached lockdown and quarantine measures put in place for the current pandemic, and that has led to Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon threatening to pause the season.

This has obviously attracted plenty of attention from ‘Gers supporters and it is quite clear that many of them are far from happy with the news – one fan even called it a “total farce”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
