The Belgian looked as good as ever as Chelsea begun their Champions League campaign, and that has left many fans hoping that he’ll be fit to feature in full against Arsenal this weekend.
That would, of course, be a massive boost for the club, but it seems as though even better news is on the horizon.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Eden Hazard could be about to give Chelsea fans another boost by committing his long-term future to the club – with the Italian publication noting that there has been significant progress with regards to talks over a new deal for the Belgian.
It is also reported that an agreement could be found as soon as within ‘the coming weeks’, which suggests that talks are edging closer to a conclusion.
Hazard’s retention is, of course, priority number one for the Blues – with the Belgian arguably their most talented player.
His current contract runs through until 2020, but tieing him down for another year would certainly allow Antonio Conte to rest easy at night, with both the club and the player seemingly keen to continue on their path together.

Eden Hazard is likely to step straight back into the Chelsea first team this weekend, and with good reason.
He brings a relentless energy and offensive drive that leaves opposition defences with very little chance of succeeding, and that will be massive against a very shaky Arsenal defence.
A new deal is just what Chelsea need, and it would go down as one of their signings of the season by far.
