Everton fans are in the Tavern tonight and after all the transfers they’ve made already in this window, we’re surprised they still recognise their squad.
Romelu Lukaku has announced that he knows where he will be playing his football next season, and let’s be honest, it won’t be at Goodison Park.
Whilst Everton will be losing a very young, very talented striker, Lukaku was never going to spend his entire career with the Toffees.
He has outgrown the club but that may not be a bad thing for them. Everton can cash in and receive a hefty sum of money from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United who are interested in his services.
They can then use that money to strengthen their attack and other areas of their squad, which they have already done with five new signings already making their way to Merseyside this transfer window. With that being said, here is a possible Everton front line that could start for them next season, without Lukaku.
RM: Gylfi Sigurdsson
On the right, we have Icelandic superstar, Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson is simply too good for Swansea and despite the Welsh club digging their heels in, a move looks likely.
Everton may have to overpay to get their man, but what a player they’ll get in return, he can play on the left, right or centre with his lack of pace made up for by his inch-perfect passing and set-piece ability.
LM: Kevin Mirallas
The punters in the Tavern think Kevin Mirallas is quite an underrated player with 38 goals and 32 assists in 173 games for Everton, he has been a good servant to the club.
He has everything a winger needs, especially if Sigurdsson is on the other flank. Boasting the pace, quick feet, and close control when running with the ball, the Belgian makes it very difficult for defenders to stop him.
Overall, a very good player and a player that can be well utilised by Koeman next season.
CAM: Davy Klaassen
The signing of Ajax captain, Davy Klaassen was a statement of intent by Everton.
The Dutch playmaker was involved in 24 goals in 33 Eredivisie games last season as his side just missed out on another league title.
Whilst he can play in central midfield, he much prefers a more attacking role, scoring the same amount of goals in less than half the number of games played in the CAM role. In Klaassen, Everton

ST: Sandro Ramirez
A Champions League winner with Barcelona, despite barely playing a game. Sandro Ramirez had a good outing last season for Malaga where he netted 14 times and got five assists in 30 league games, not bad for your debut season at a new club.
With Lukaku likely to be on the move, Everton were in desperate need of a new number nine to take the Belgian forward’s place and, in Ramirez, they have a very capable replacement.
He might not set the world on fire with his abilities but he is a competent goal scorer who can bag Everton 15-20 goals next season which should be more than enough for them to achieve their goals of Europa League football.
