The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been looking back and celebrating the greatest player in their club’s history, Frank Lampard, on his birthday. The 40-year-old spent 13 years at Stamford Bridge between 2001 and 2013, winning the Champions League, two League Cups, three Premier Leagues and four FA Cups in that time.
The Chelsea fans propping our bar up would kill to have another midfielder in their team like Frank Lampard. The Derby manager hung up his boots at the end of the MLS season in February 2017. The incredible Englishman won 106 caps and scored 29 goals in that time. When comparing him to the current crop of Chelsea’s midfielders, Lampard in his prime would walk into the team and any team would have been lucky to have him.
Chelsea is a club in a transition stage at the moment, and it’s fair to say that the Chelsea fans over on Twitter would love to have Lampard back in the team now.
