It’s been a very mixed first half of the season for the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern…

An excellent first few months has been contrasted with a poor end to the calendar year, with the Citizens slowly falling short in the race for the Premier League title – with Chelsea running away with it at present.

There has been some standout stars at the Etihad this season, with the likes of Aguero and Fernandinho proving to be vital, but there have been a couple of poor players too.

Guardiola has proven himself to be an expert when it comes to getting the best out of his players, with his squad at Barcelona and Bayern Munich often unbeatable – and he needs to build a similar level of strength at the Etihad.

His squad is filled with talent, but poor performances must come at a cost – and Guardiola must act.

With that said, Guardiola should bench these 2 Man City players – agreed?

ALEKSANDER KOLAROV

The Serb has featured heavily under the new boss and has been playing a different position than he’s been used to in his career so far.

However, at times he has looked out of place and finds himself drifting out of position – meaning that John Stones is always exposed, which has cost City a number of games so far this season.

Man City’s defensive frailties have been well documented this season, and Kolarov is a key offender.

CLAUDIO BRAVO

One of the main reasons as to why City aren’t currently at the top of the league is due to the amount of goals they’ve been letting in.

This, ultimately, comes down to the performances of Claudio Bravo – who was brought in to replace the passionate and fan favourite, Joe Hart.

In order for Guardiola to play the style he wants to, he needs a good passer of the ball between the sticks which sure Bravo may be and Hart not so much, but he lacks the necessities to be a goalkeeper.

He’s essentially an outfield player in goal and it’s just not working. Willy Caballero must get a chance.
