Guardiola simply needs to utilise these 2 wonderkids in the Man City team next season

Our resident Manchester City fans have been joking about their club seemingly being linked with every man and his dog from Monaco this summer.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already landed winger Bernado Silva and left-back Benjamin Mendy from the French outfit.

City are not renowned for offering youth players a place in the first-team – often youngsters who make the switch to The Etihad become distant memories whose careers take a backward step.

And City have arguably not produced a first-choice first-team player since Micah Richards in 2005 although the defender Tosin Adarabioyo did make three appearances under Guardiola last season.

Guardiola has featured a number of the club’s youth players in their pre-season tour of the United States, and a handful of City fans here in the pub want them to get more of a chance next season.

Down at the Tavern, we’ve picked out TWO City starlets who could make the step up next season…

Jadon Sancho

Manchester City fought off interest from sign the winger from Watford in 2015.

The 17 year-old was a key member of the team that reached the FA Youth Cup final last season.

Sancho netted 12 times and provided 4 assists for in 14 games for City’s Under-18’s side and many believe he should be given an opportunity, or display his talents elsewhere.

Phil Foden

Like Sancho, the Englishman impressed for City’s Under-18’s last term.

Foden scored 11 times from midfield and provided six assists in his 20 games for his side.

Foden was also an unused substitute for City’s Champions League group game at home against Celtic in December.

The suggestions from the landlord are Guardiola is ready to hand out opportunities to the 17 year-old, starting with the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
