Arsenal fans were feeling elated after the club were linked with a move for a Ligue 1 defender.
According to Mark Irwin, the Gunners are interested in making a move for Lille centre-half Gabriel Magalhães in the summer with Edu Gaspar having already held talks with the French side. If a transfer was to happen, he would be the second player to join the club from the French team after Nicolas Pepe made a £72m move last summer.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic campaign in France and averages the joint-least number of fouls per game (0.8), of players to have started more than one game, when compared to Mikel Arteta’s men.
