Arsenal: Fans discuss Lucas Torreira amidst Thomas Partey rumours

Loads of Arsenal fans are discussing Lucas Torreira after re-watching last season’s North London derby, amidst rumours of interest for Thomas Partey.

The Gunners came out 4-2 winners over arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium under Unai Emery, with Torreira scoring the last goal of the game in a man-of-the-match performance, according to Sky Sports.

The £40.5 million-rated ace has featured 33 times in all competitions in this campaign, scoring two goals and providing one assist. However, many of his early games in the top flight under Emery were played in central midfield with a more attacking license, rather than a defensive position he has since played under Mikel Arteta, as per Transfermarkt.

Some supporters noted this tactical switch and how he has performed better because of it, but others were not keen to praise the Uruguayan international. One fan even suggested swapping the 24-year old for Partey. Various outlets including The Telegraph have linked the Ghanaian international to Arsenal and, if he joins, the Gunner in question would have more competition in the middle of the park.
