‘Hallmark of our academy’ - Chelsea fans have a message for the club ahead of next season

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were seriously impressed with the performance of Ruben Loftus-Cheek for England on Tuesday.

The Englishman made his tournament debut in the second-half and played an important role as England won the game against Tunisia, and that has left our resident Blues drooling.

It’s a similar tale with the Chelsea fans on Twitter.

Chelsea recently shared a few quotes from Loftus-Cheek reflecting on the game and looking ahead to the next game too – and he noted just how happy he was to be representing his country at the World Cup.

Naturally, Chelsea fans were quick to respond to the message from their club, and they’ve been sending a firm message to their club – give him a chance!

Of course, Loftus-Cheek was crucial for Crystal Palace last season, and he’s looking likely to play an important role for his country this summer too. A move back to Chelsea thereafter, then, does make sense.
