The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the return of the Carabao Cup this week. The Blues have enjoyed a decent run in the competition so far, and it has served as a fantastic platform for a few of their fringe players to get a chance in the first team.
That’s expected to continue this week against Bournemouth. The Cherries have struggled this term, and so the game will be a fixture that Chelsea will be expected to win comfortably.
Players like Michy Batshuayi and Danny Drinkwater, both of whom have played intermittently this season, could come in, but the fans in the Transfer Tavern are more concerned with the prospect of a few young players getting a chance.
Antonio Conte has utilised young players sparingly so far this term, but in news that is sure to come as a boost to those in the Transfer Tavern, the Italian could opt to field a few more on Wednesday night.
Speaking ahead of the game, via Chelsea’s official Twitter, Antonio Conte has revealed that young Chelsea trio Callum Hudson-Odoi, Dujon Sterling and Ethan Ampadu could all be involved in some capacity, giving a fresh-faced look to the Blues squad.
