‘Has done more harm than good’ - Chelsea fans aren’t bothered by Conte’s latest injury update

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that their side’s win against West Brom will encourage their side to go on a bit of a solid run of form. Their problem this term has been a lack of consistency, with Antonio Conte unable to string together more than a couple of wins in a row as of late.

That clearly needs to change, especially given that we’re entering the business end of the season. Knockout games and must-win fixtures are going to be common for the next few weeks, and so a poor spell cannot be allowed.

Chelsea’s next game, against Hull City, is an example of the former, with the Blues set to take on the Tigers in the FA Cup. The competition is their most likely chance of a trophy this term, and so a win is the only option for Conte.

Unfortunately, though, ahead of the game, the Italian has shared some bad news. He has confirmed that the trio of David Luiz, Ross Barkley and Tiemoue Bakayoko will all miss the game through injury.

You would think that this is very bad for the club, given that each player would likely have been in with a chance of featuring. However, that’s not how Chelsea fans have seen it.

To the contrary, Chelsea fans don’t seem all that bothered by the news, especially in the case of Tiemoue Bakayoko. The Frenchman’s form has been poor this term, and he’s not very popular at the moment, it seems. Indeed, a few fans are calling for him to miss more than just one game – they’re wanting him to be out of the team for quite some time.
