Hay: Interest in Leeds United duo amid summer rebuild at Elland Road

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the club to make a number of changes this season and could be about to see some players leave in the near future.

The Whites have had a disappointing summer so far with how things have gone as they look for a new manager to try and bring the club back to where the locals want them to be.

Paul Heckingbottom was dismissed from his position a couple of weeks ago and it is believed that there could be a few players that could follow him out of Elland Road this summer.

Phil Hay, who is the chief football journalist for the Yorkshire Evening Post, was asked on Twitter by a local if he knew of who would be next out of the door and he replied with two players who have been generating interest.

He stated that there is interest in both Marcus Antonsson and Pawel Cibicki, although he did not reveal who is considering the possibility of swooping in for the Whites men.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Leeds locals in the Tavern will not be too concerned if either of the players were to leave Elland Road this summer as both have been deemed to be surplus to requirements.

Antonsson spent the last season on loan with Blackburn Rovers, whilst Cibicki failed to make an impact and featured just seven times in his first campaign with the Whites following his move from Malmo.
