The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see that their 25-year-old full-back, Jon Flanagan, could be on his way to play under Scouse legend, Steven Gerrard at Ibrox. According to Paul Joyce, the new Rangers gaffer is keen to add Flanagan to his side in Glasgow, with the defender being let go this summer.

Flanagan failed to hit the heights that were expected of him at Liverpool and he’s now being let go this summer for a minuscule transfer fee. The young English defender was touted as ‘the next Cafu’ by a number of optimistic Liverpool fans when he broke into the club’s senior squad, however, things haven’t gone to plan and he’s now behind a number of players in the club’s pecking order at full-back.
If anything, the young full-back who the Reds are getting excited about today is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 19-year-old has travelled to his first World Cup and has picked up his first international cap this summer, with Flanagan now a distant memory to the Liverpool fans who have been so keen to get behind the young Alexander-Arnold. Now though, Flanagan can be put out of his misery in his Liverpool career with a move to play under Gerrard up in Glasgow.

He will let Gerrard down.
Not good enough personally.
Not enough concentration levels for a defender.— Darren (@DarrenPeers47) June 20, 2018

The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will hope that Stevie G can get the most out of Flanagan after his career at Anfield never really took off.
