One of the most discussed transfers on Deadline Day was Mamadou Sakho’s last minute loan swap to Crystal Palace…
The Frenchman has yet to feature this season, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp supposedly having had a fallout with him – and so a deal looked inevitable for much of the month.
However, the Reds and the Eagles took until the closing moments to ensure that a deal was completed, with the clubs reportedly agreeing a £2 million loan fee for Sakho.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were fairly divided on the deal, given that whilst he needed to leave to find game time, Sakho is undoubtedly one of Liverpool’s best central defenders.
Unsurprisingly, it was a very similar tale amongst the fans on Twitter – with both the Liverpool and the Crystal Palace fans hoping that Sakho has a good few months in London…

It isn’t very often that a player leaves for another Premier League side yet still retains the faith of his old side – but Sakho has, seemingly, managed to achieve that.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern are hoping that he can come back to Anfield at the end of the season…
