The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting a lot of enjoyment out of a video of Roy Keane from November, where he claimed he wouldn’t watch Liverpool play football if they played in his back garden. The Reds are still pinching themselves after they blitzed Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Anfield last night.
Everyone, please watch this Roy Keane video from November. Fool! https://t.co/kDXEMB2dYn

Roy Keane’s cutting comments about Jurgen Klopp’s side frustrated the Liverpool fans at the time as the Manchester United legend didn’t hold back on his assessment on the Anfield club, claiming that come to the end of the season they’ll just be drifting to nowhere. Keane’s comments (we’ve sourced from Goal) look to have come back to bite him, however, as his former club made their Champions League exit in humiliating fashion last month, losing at home to Sevilla.
The Liverpool fans propping our bar up will know that despite yesterday’s heroics, the job isn’t done yet with Liverpool travelling to The Etihad for the second time this season in the final 90 minutes of the tie next week. If the clubs match the scoreline from the last game in Manchester, the Citizens will be the ones in Europe’s last four as they ran out 5-0 winners over Klopp’s side back in September. Whatever the result in next Tuesday’s game, it promises to be entertaining and the Liverpool fans will be using Roy Keane’s words to get them pumped up for what promises to be their biggest game of the season.
