The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their club’s injury-prone attacking midfielder, Adam Lallana. Lallana, whilst speaking in an interview with Liverpool’s website, declared himself 100% fit and claimed that he is raring to go for the business end of the season.
The former Southampton man has frustrated the Liverpool fans propping our bar up, he’s only managed 12 senior appearances for the Reds this campaign and is yet to find the net. The recent fitness issues have not been an anomaly for Lallana either as he has a rich history of injuries throughout his career at both St Mary’s and Anfield. However, Lallana came off the bench on Monday at Wembley as England played out a 1-1 draw against Italy.
The return of Lallana comes as a massive boost to the Kopites as they face Manchester City twice in their Champions League quarter-final in the next two weeks. Our resident Reds will be hoping they can repeat their January heroics and overcome Pep Guardiola’s City again. The game will no doubt be one of Jurgen Klopp’s biggest tests as a manager since he moved to Liverpool and the fans will be looking to forward to seeing how their side performs in the mouth-watering tie.
