Optimism is riding high amongst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the Reds on a decent run at present. After a very poor period earlier in the season, Jurgen Klopp appears to have finally got his side on a roll, and it has come at a very good time.
The Reds are set to take on Arsenal on Friday in a game that could have huge repercussions. At present, the two teams – alongside Burnley and Tottenham – are battling it out for the fourth spot in the Premier League, with Liverpool currently leading the chase. Arsenal have been on a decent run in recent weeks, though, and so the game is sure to go down to a few overarching details.
One such detail is likely to be the quality of Liverpool’s defence. It has generally been poor this term, though it has seen an upturn in form in recent weeks. Klopp has clearly noticed that, as the German has recently made a few comments on the improving quality within the Liverpool defence. He’s clearly feeling optimistic, but the Liverpool fans over on Twitter haven’t taken to the comments very well.

Indeed, they think that Klopp may well have just jinxed Liverpool’s luck, and particularly with the Arsenal game on the horizon, fans appear to be concerned. Offensively, Arsenal have, of course, looked good this term, particularly with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line.
With comments including Klopp ‘jinxing’ Liverpool’s chances, alongside fears that ‘Arsenal will not score at least 3’, it’s fair to say that there is a lot of nervousness amongst Reds. Take a look at a short selection of responses below…
