The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from Jurgen Klopp during his Liverpool press conference. The German manager discussed his countryman and Liverpool shot-stopper Loris Karius, saying that he’s really happy with the ‘keeper’s progress and that there’s still a lot more to come from the former Mainz man.
Klopp on @LorisKarius: “He’s progressed a lot. I’m really happy with his progress and there is still a lot to come, I’m sure. Having games like he’s had in the last few weeks and months, nothing helps you more.”

Karius has been in terrific form as of late and has been one of the key players behind Liverpool’s defensive sharpening up. The Reds were beginning to gain a reputation for having a soft touch at the back, however, Virgil van Dijk joined the club in January at the same time as Karius and Andy Robertson found their form and burst into the first-team picture, with none of them looking back now.
Karius has the biggest game of his career to look forward to now after Wednesday night’s 4-2 loss in Rome was enough for the Klopp’s side to progress to the Champions League final in Kiev. The Reds won 7-6 on aggregate, with Karius pulling out some big saves across both legs as Liverpool marched into their first Champions League final since 2007. Their opponents, Real Madrid are chasing their 13th title in the competition and are already the overwhelming favourites, meaning Karius will have to be on top of his game if his side is to come out on top.
