Homegrown: The 1 English signing who could take Leeds to the next level

Leeds fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can bring in an exciting attacker this summer. Indeed, the likes of Caleb Ekuban, Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Jay-Roy Grot all lacked quality and couldn’t ensure consistency in front of goal in the last campaign.

The Whites could look to make use of the loan system this summer or could even swoop in for a permanent deal, with Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban surely looking to move away from the South Coast after a spate of loan spells.

Grabban enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Aston Villa during the second half of last season after displaying his prolific touch at Sunderland towards the start of the campaign. The 30-year-old may be looking for a new club this summer after returning to his parent club Bournemouth, with Villa surely unable to bring him back to Villa Park due to all of the financial troubles they currently face.

Encouragingly, the Englishman managed find the back of the net 20 times in 38 appearances in the campaign just gone, so it’s clear to see that he knows how to score goals in the Championship. Indeed, with a deadly eye for goal and a natural goalscorer’s instinct, Grabban could definitely help fire Leeds United into the Premier League next season if they manage to land him.

Indeed, the Premier League man would be a proven option in the Championship and would be sure to cure any attacking problems that the Whites experienced this season. And, with the likes of Samuel Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez buzzing around him, opportunities will definitely come his way.
