Though the Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern remain somewhat divided on Sam Allardyce as the club’s new boss, the punters propping up our bar are all in agreement about one thing. Indeed, few would doubt the fact that the club are on the way up.

While Big Sam and his trademark style may not instantly cause too much excitement to those on Merseyside, the fact a striker has finally arrived in the shape of Cenk Tosun has delighted the Toffees in the Tavern, who hope further investment can improve the options available to the former England boss going forward.
