Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed an impressive rise under the guidance of Ronald Koeman this season, but they’re expecting a wealth of changes this summer.
Many are predicting that a familiar face could return to Goodison Park, with Wayne Rooney looking extremely likely to leave Manchester United at the end of the season and Koeman leaving the door open for a return to Merseyside.
Record-scorer for England and Manchester United, Rooney added another goal to his tally in yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Burnley; which put the Red Devils just three points behind third-placed Liverpool, whilst boasting two games in hand.
Everton fans were clearly impressed with Rooney’s performance and many are looking ahead to a potential return for the veteran next season, which our landlord believes would be a tremendous move from the Toffees.
Following Rooney’s goal yesterday, many took to social media to post their comments and it seems a lot of fans are keen to see their academy graduate return to Goodison Park.
