There’s no denying, however, that the relationship between Ed Woodward and Jose Mourinho has been complicated. They’ve clashed a lot, and with Mourinho always divisive, the pair’s relationship is always teetering on the edge.
However, there’s an easy way to make the manager happy, and that’s by investing in new signings.
With the January transfer window now less than two months away, Woodward would be wise to start thinking about a few deals, and moves for these TWO players would surely delight Jose…
Krzysztof Piatek
Krzysztof Piatek wasn’t a particularly well-known name in England before this season began, but it’s fair to say that a lot of people know who he is now.
He’s been one of Europe’s most lethal forwards this term, having bagged a stunning 9 league goals so far this season.
He’s a natural finisher and a goalscorer, and at present, that’s what Man Utd need. Romelu Lukaku just isn’t cutting it, and signing a second-choice forward makes so much sense.
The Pole won’t be cheap, but based on his form this season, he’d be worth every penny.
Nathan Ake
Nathan Ake made his name at Chelsea, and Jose Mourinho will be familiar with him as a result.
However, the Dutch defender is a completely different player to that which the Man Utd man will have seen back at his old club.
At Bournemouth, he’s truly gone from strength to strength. He’s no longer a talented young player – he’s truly one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
Man Utd have a real problem at the back, with none of their central defenders looking particularly impressive for much of the season.
Ake would come in and immediately be an upgrade, make no mistake.
