The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with the latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sportwitness.co.uk, that claims former Leeds United majority shareholder, namely Massimo Cellino, is looking at bringing in Marcus Antonsson to his current club Brescia. The Serie B club have aspirations of returning to Italy’s top flight and will be looking to invest this summer.
Italian media reporting that Brescia (prop. M Cellino) hope to sign Marcus Antonsson. Been interest in him and Leeds want to move him on. #lufc

The thought of Cellino pumping money into the Yorkshire club under any circumstances is a lovely one for the Leeds fans. However, the club will take any buyers for a number of their misfiring forwards this summer. Jay-Roy Grot, Caleb Ekuban and Antonsson will likely be allowed to leave Elland Road this summer if the right bid comes in for them after they all failed to impress last season.
Antonsson, though, spent last season on-loan with League One Blackburn, and whilst he was part of a promotion winning outfit, it’s unlikely that he’ll be given a chance with the Whites next season. The club will be looking at recruiting smartly in the transfer market but will be hoping to move on a number of their senior players to accumulate funds and, with Marcelo Bielsa expected to take the job, exciting times could be on the horizon for the fans of Leeds United.

I’m loving this, it’s showing all the kids that social media’s demand for immediacy does not drive everything. The fat lady will sing when she’s ready, until then why should the rest of #lufc business life stop?

The Leeds fans in the Tavern aren’t Cellino’s biggest fans, although if he’s willing to spend money on the club’s deadwood then the fans will allow it.
