Whilst the Premier League season hasn’t quite gone to plan for the Chelsea first team, the Blues have had some pretty good success throughout their developmental ranks.
Last week, they made it to the UEFA Youth League final, and whilst they were beaten at the final hurdle, it was still a brilliant performance from the young Blues.
Silverware finally came on Monday night, too, with Chelsea crowned the FA Youth Cup winners after a stunning 7-1 aggregate victory against Arsenal in the competition.
The Blues have a rich history in the tournament, and they’ve won it every year for the past five years, which is a testament to their quality.
Their performance in the final was one of their best yet, with a number of youngsters impressing.
One such example was young Callum Hudson-Odoi. Chelsea fans are aware of him, owing to his limited minutes in the first team this season, but he truly showed what he could do in the final – with mazy runs, technical brilliance and goalscoring pedigree on full display.
Some are calling for him to get a promotion to the first team, whilst others are hoping for a big loan next season. Either way, expectations are clearly high.
