With the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern merely delighted their side were finally able to record a win this calendar year, the fact it came over Tottenham Hotspur made it even sweeter.
The wonderfully devastating attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho has now reunited, much to the delight of the Kopites propping up the bar, so they are very hopeful of their chances in qualifying for the Champions League once more.
Which is why they aren’t overly bothered about a statement on the Reds’ official website revealing striker Daniel Sturridge has been sent home from their warm-weather training camp in La Maga with an illness. Clearly a talented forward, the 27-year-old’s career on Merseyside has been littered with injury problems over the past few years.
So, the fact he’s again set to miss out comes as little surprise to the Liverpool fans in the Tavern and even less so amongst the club’s online support. With that in mind, here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to Sturridge’s return home.

So Even when #Sturridge is NOT injured … he's (injured) … ill!?
