The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited at the thought of a certain German joining their already impressive frontline.

Reports broke recently of a potential Mesut Ozil to Man United transfer happening in the summer, where the German international can move on a free. He would join an impressive frontline and reunite with his old Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, so many of our flat cap bitter drinkers believe, under the Portuguese, he played some of his finest football in the three years they had together.

Ozil is currently out of favour with Arsene Wenger and not in the side, though he would surely welcome the move to the rival club, such is the nature of his quality.

Exactly where he’d fit in has our punters scratching their heads, our landlord thinks his got the answer with this devastating front four.

RW: Henrik Mkhitaryan

Playing on the right of the midfield three, Mkhitaryan can interlink with Ozil in the centre of the park. Between the two assist kings, surely the lone striker could reach devastating scoring heights.

The Armenian’s pace and attacking urge would see him take his game up a few levels being able to float about on the right hand side, maybe in more of a free role than a solid winger.

CAM: Mesut Ozil

The German playmaker could sit in the middle of the park and spray the passes he often likes to play. Controlling that number 10 spot and playing between the lines while the other two in midfield dart about and make the space available.

He could interlink with both flanks and also drop a little deeper if needed to create the space for the three players in front of him.

LAM: Marcus Rashford

The young local lad is trying to make the left side of midfield his own. Many of the United fans are already comparing him to their former number seven and fan favourite Ronaldo, such is the level of belief in the young England international.

In a battle at the moment with Martial for the spot, Rashford’s natural talent and attacking drive will get him the nod ahead of the Frenchman and may compliment Ozil’s ability to spot a pass.

ST: Romelu Lukaku

The biggest beneficiary of the Ozil move will be lone striker Lukaku. with Ozil and Mkhitaryan behind him the Belgian might set silly goal scoring records and with Rashford coming in from the left Premier League defences need to be on their toes.

Lukaku can only improve at Man United, Mourinho knows both Ozil and the sriker from past clubs and will know how to gel the two accompanied by a Pogba playing just behind the Ozil. This could be devastating.
