Manchester City are on the charge in the Premier League, recording no defeats in the last seven games they’ve played.

However, Citizens in the Transfer Tavern are dismayed about their latest exit from European competition after their 6-6 draw with Monaco, meant that City crashed out the competition on away goals.

Pep Guardiola was pleased with how his side bounced back in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, following their European exit but the City punters in the Tavern are demanding more, especially following the high standards they have set at their club.

Our landlord agrees and feels Guardiola has somewhat misjudged the Premier League in his first year in English football, and for once the City fans at the bar agree with him.

They believe that there are some members in the squad who simply are not good enough to wear the sky blue of City, and are demanding Guardiola addresses their future in the summer.

It is a topic that has enraged fans across the Premier League due to the idea that City are in fact wasting many a promising player’s career by not giving them a chance.

These players are individuals that surely would walk into any team.

Fabian Delph

With Pep Guardiola stating that he will reassess Delph’s future at the end of the season, many of the City fans in the Tavern cannot understand why former boss Manuel Pellegrini even signed the England international from Aston Villa in 2015.

It is fair to say that injuries have not been on Delph’s side whilst he has been at City, but our landlord believes he will be shown the door at City this summer.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Undervalued is the term used by the rest of the Premier League to describe Iheanacho,

ineffective is the term used by our resident Citizens fans in the Transfer Tavern.

The Nigerian simply cannot get a game for Pep Guardiola’s side since the rise of Gabriel Jesus, and the return to form of Sergio Aguero.

Though he seemingly scores every time he plays for City, our landlord feels Guardiola simply does not rate Iheanacho and feels the 20-year-old would be best leaving City this summer.
