Indeed, this weekend sees the latest test of their sometimes inconsistent ways as they look to follow up a win against Arsenal with victory over Burnley.
Too often we’ve seen the Reds let themselves down against the so-called lesser sides after big wins and so Jurgen Klopp will be keen to see that change against the Clarets on Sunday.
Start drumming those performances out and the Reds could be title contenders next season with one man, currently out on loan, evidently wanting to be a part of their 2017/18 campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports, young winger Lazar Markovic has been speaking about where his future lies with him currently doing a good job out on loan with relegation candidates Hull City.
The Serbian international said:
“I see it differently from the coach [his future at Liverpool]. I am still a Liverpool player. We will have talks in the summer and see how it goes from there.”
It certainly appears that the youngster wants to remain with the Reds and prove a point but it remains to be seen if Jurgen Klopp shares those sentiments.
